Latency in Transactions with TruAge

After you enable TruAge and you seem to be experiencing a delay in your item scanning times, here are the normally expected times with TruAge.

 Normal Expected Timings w/TruAge Enabled:

  • For the initial age restricted item scanned - 1.0 to 1.5 seconds to add item to basket.
  • For additional restricted items scanned - .6 - 1.0 seconds to add item to basket.
  • Then, when Subtotal is pressed, the system reaches back out to TruAge to determine whether there are any basket-level restrictions that need to be applied, alerted on, or cause the transaction to be rejected.
  • Finally, when payment is initiated, the system makes one additional call to TruAge to complete and record the transaction.
